Languages of Publication

Additional Information

  • Monographs: we expect proposals and submitted manuscripts to be written in English.
  • Edited Volumes and Conference Proceedings: the editors’/organisers’ preferred language, with long summaries in English and a bilingual introduction. We appreciate proposals for publication written in English.
  • Theses: the author’s preferred language, with a long summary in English (no less than 5,000 words). We appreciate proposals for publication written in English.

Isegoria values all languages and invites submissions for edited volumes and conference proceedings in the language of the authors’/editors’/organisers’ preference. In this case, the view of external reviewers will weigh in the decision to go forward with the publication. We will tailor the format of the manuscript to house rules and agree on a layout that the editors/contributors are happy with.

Editors of the volumes/proceedings are responsible for writing style in languages other than English. For the purpose of outreach and dissemination of knowledge, we ask the editors to provide a long summary of the edited volume in English or a bilingual introduction in the preferred language of the editors and in English. For the same reason, the editors are also responsible to ensure that all contributions in languages other than English are accompanied by a long summary in English (5-10% of total word count of each contribution).
