Please contact us at contact@isegoriapublishing.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, we do. PhD thesis undergo our normal review process (editorial, then external). If you submit a thesis written in a language other than English, the decision will depend on the views and evaluation of our external reviewers alone.
Please note that authors are widely expected to revise their thesis substantially to turn it into a scholarly book. If your institution required you to deposit your thesis to a repository, please make sure that you have all permissions and licenses to publish parts of or your entire thesis. More information can be found in our Editorial Pollicies section (please scroll down after Plagiarism).
Yes, we do and are very much interested in a wide range of topics relevant to the ancient world and World Archaeology. We let you, the editor of the volume, to decide on your preferred language. Please make sure you have the consent of all contributors to act as the corresponding author.
For the purpose of wide dissemination and outreach, Isegoria expects all essays to be accompanied by a long summary in English (between 500 and 1000 words). For the same reason, editors are expected either to provide a bilingual introduction or a long summary of the volume (no less than 4,000 words, and not a reproduction or rephrasing of the abstracts). For more information please consult our Languages of Publication section.
Yes, of course you can and we would welcome submissions of proposals or fully edited collections. We kindly refer you to the previous Q & A and our Scope section for more information.
If it is relevant to any aspect of the Ancient World or World Archaeology, then in all probability we are very much interested in receiving your proposal/manuscript. We kindly refer you to our Scope section for more information, but please do get in touch to check.
No, we are happy to receive manuscripts in your preferred language. The process somewhat differs due to our limitations. While we read several modern languages, for submission in languages other than English and Greek we will rely on evaluations from external reviewers of native-speaker fluency. We regret that we cannot offer language editing services in any other language. Please consult our Languages of Publication section for more information.
Please be advised that for quality control reasons, all communications between all parties will be in English.
No, not at all. Isegoria evaluates ideas, originality, and diligence, not style. We offer language editing services (in English only) to polish your manuscript after the proposed publication is accepted and the Final Agreement (LINK) signed. More information on our approach to language can be found in our Roadmap to Publication section.
Please make sure you consult our Editorial and Copyright Policies, the Roadmap to Publication (which outlines the process), and Submissions (for your reference). Then, please go to Authors' Hub - Submissions, or click here for more information.
Whereas writing times depend mostly on authors, from our side we aim at providing a swift and efficient service. Authors receive a response within 10 weeks from the day they submitted their proposal (internal and external review). Afterwards, a written agreement specifies a timeframe for the delivery of manuscripts and the production of publications.
Regarding manuscripts, we expect to hear from our external reviewers within 4 months.
For more information please consult our Roadmap to Publication section.
Yes, for the proposal (in-house and external, double-blind) and the final manuscript (external, double-blind). Please consult the previous Q & A above for more information.
Yes, we do, only for English.
No, I am afraid we do not.
We do welcome contributions in English or any other major research language, and strongly encourage long summaries or introductions in other languages. Please consult our Scope section for more information.
We believe that authors should be informed on the layout of their publication as early as possible in the process. Our house rules LINK detail conventions, formatting, and aesthetic aspects of our publications, and also function as guidance and a facilitator of speedy process. For example, switching a manuscript from one referencing system to another is a lengthy, tedious task that can slow down production: it is best to know in advance and try to keep close to house rules from early on in the author's journey. Our team will take care of most other details to ensure high standards and conformity to house rules.
Only if you tell us from the start.
The Agreement is a binding contract for both parties. Hence, authors must provide a complete manuscript at the end of the specified period.
If you require only language editing services, please get in touch to enquire further.
Yes, of course.
Isegoria discusses with authors and values their take on reviewers' comments. At any point during the journey from submission to publications, authors are encouraged to get in touch with the publishers and voice concerns. For record-keeping purposes, it is best to communicate in writing and in English. Our processes are guided by the COPE initiative.
Proposals: after discussions, decisions are final but authors are welcome to revise and resubmit.
Manuscripts: publishers sit down with reviewers and authors to resolve disputes. If unresolved, the dispute is referred to experts in our Editorial team or third parties with appropriate expertise and experience. Their decision is binding.
Isegoria is committed to Open Access publishing. Therefore, we try to be as open as possible and ensure authors retain the right to use and distribute their work in any way they deem appropriate.
